Depending on the proximity of your work area to the road and the impact that your work may have on traffic, the Temporary Traffic Control (TTM) requirements may be a simple risk assessment and a few signs for warning of your works. Alternatively, you have a major project with more complex closures, detours, and speed reductions, for example.
To place traffic control devices on the road, you will need a Traffic Management Plan and a Traffic Guidance Scheme (also known as a Traffic Control Plan).
You will also require permission from the road owner, which is typically the local council or the state’s road manager.
